BIOGRAPHY
Born in Johnstown, PA, Krystyna fell in love with the entertainment industry at age 3 when she insisted to her mother she wanted to “grow up to be a Barbie doll.” That same year she began studying ballet, and it was not long before she added classes in acting, voice, gymnastics, violin, piano, and many more. Her love of performing was undeniable. She also became very active, participating in cross country, track, swimming, yoga, soccer, triathlons, and cheerleading. Her other love is community service, and a great deal of her youth and present activities are devoted to it. She is currently chair of “The Volunteer LINK,” one of the largest community service organizations on the University of Miami’s campus. Check it out at www.thevolunteerlink.com .
Her acting career began at an academic summer camp at age 8, when she was cast as Big John in “Robin Hood”. She then played Mary in her school’s nativity pageant, and various other roles throughout middle school. In high school, she added on community theatre in addition to her school performances, often juggling her high school shows at the same time as shows in her community. At the end of her senior year, she was cast in her first Equity show: “The King and I” at the Mountain Playhouse, where she became an EMC Candidate.
Krystyna received a generous scholarship from the University of Miami, and moved to the Sunshine State to hone her acting craft, pursuing degrees in Theatre and pre-med Biology, with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. She jumped right in, playing Lust in her school’s rendition of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” while understudying the role of Janet. Soon she added student films to the list, performing in over 20 films while at university. She was also fortunate enough to model swimsuits for Seventeen Magazine, land a commercial, shoot a promo for an independent feature film “Well Done,” and land a pilot for “International Lovers.”
Upon graduation in May this year, Krystyna will move to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career full time. She cannot wait and is super excited to be able to follow her dreams. One of her favorite quotes is by Leo Burnett: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it, you will land among the stars.”
